The latest accolade follows-on from the company’s compliance with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting Protocol, ISO 1406-1:2019, attained in March this year, which enables the organisation to accurately calculate its carbon footprint across its entire operation.

Ameon’s, Robin Lawson said: “This has been a long-term goal for our business, as part of our drive towards Net Zero, and it demonstrates, in the strongest possible terms, that we are serious about sustainability.

“We have been informed that we are the first in the construction sector to have attained the standard through third-party certification, which is a great achievement, and one which illustrates that the environment and the reduction of GHG emissions are central planks of our business philosophy, rather than just worthy statements.”

Ameon appointed specialist consultancy, ATAS UK to guide it through the stringent accreditation process: acting as a bridge between the certification body NQA and the company and guaranteeing veracity of data and adherence to the strict evaluation protocols.

Ameon will now use its PAS 2060 accreditation as the springboard for the next phase of its move towards Net Zero status, which it hopes to achieve within five years.
